Fees
The Codrington School charges tuition fees, along with one-off fees for screening and admission and a building levy.
Families must buy their own uniforms items and some supplies. The school meets the cost of most field trips and text-books.
For our current fees please peruse our and our statement of fees for 2018-19
Scholarships
The Codrington School does not offer unfunded scholarships to children entering the school. It also does not offer bursaries to children entering the school, other than in the case where three or more children from the same nuclear family are entered into the school.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, benefactors of the school make it possible for the school to offer fully funded scholarships or bursaries for part of a student?s fees for deserving scholars at any year level.
Candidates for these scholarships will need to ensure that all papers are accurate and complete. Information submitted becomes part of any scholarship offer, and the subsequent discovery of plagiarism, inaccuracies or incompleteness may provide cause for withdrawal of any offer made. Copies of certificates, references and a transcript of academic performance will need to be submitted, as will a letter of support from either the applicant?s current principal or her/his current guidance counsellor. This letter should include predicted examination grades and a statement of the applicant?s contributions to her/his current school in non-academic areas.
Bursaries
The school itself has a portion of its budget devoted to bursaries and offers some bursaries, on application, in the following circumstances. All bursary applications are handled in confidence. Below are possible bursaries:
- Financial need
A major adjustment to the fee structure at The Codrington School was made for the 2008-2009 academic year. On application, the bursary committee of the board of governors may decide to offer a bursary for a certain proportion of the tuition fees to the parents/guardians of a student who was registered as a fee-paying student at the school during the 2007-2008 school year and whose fees (at ?Regular?, ?Caribbean? or ?Barbadian? level) are fully met by the family rather than by an external agency and for whom the revised fee structure would cause financial hardship. In such cases, parents/guardians are asked to provide financial statements to substantiate the case for a bursary. Normally, the level of such a bursary would not exceed 25% of the relevant fee level. - Hardship
On application, the bursary committee of the board of governors may decide to offer a bursary for a certain proportion of the tuition fees to the parents/guardians of an existing student whose family has paid full fees (at ?Regular?, ?Caribbean? or ?Barbadian? level) for at least three years and whose parents?/guardians? circumstances change dramatically and unforeseeably (for example, the death of the breadwinner). In such cases, parents?/guardians are asked to provide financial statements to substantiate the case for a bursary. Normally, the level of such a bursary would not exceed 50% of the relevant fee level.? - Large family
The school is keen to encourage the attendance at The Codrington School of large families. In cases where there are three or more children registered as fee-paying students at the school at the same time, the bursary committee of the board of governors may decide to offer a bursary for a certain proportion of the tuition fees to the parents/guardians of such children whose fees are fully met by the family rather than by an external agency. In such cases, parents?/guardians are not asked to provide financial statements to substantiate the case for a bursary. Normally, the level of such a bursary would not exceed 10% of the relevant fee level for each of the children involved.
To apply for any of the above bursaries please complete the bursary application form and return it to admissions@codrington.edu.bb
